Grape & Grain, a 4.5 star Yelp rated wine bar and pub with live music, board games, casual ambiance and an expansive microbrew and wine selection. “The atmosphere is awesome as well for hanging out with friends and even playing card games. Definitely one of my go-to places in the Peninsula, “ says Jenn T. from Millbrae on Yelp.
What to order: Firestone Walker’s Velvet Merkin and Crack Corn or any glass of red!
Highlight: It’s ranked one of the best spots on the Peninsula for singles.
Under Attic, a saloon located directly under San Mateo favorite, Attic restaurant. Under Attic offers delicious snacks from Attic, plus an incredible Happy Hour. “This place is a gem for those who live and work on the peninsula. Their happy hour is the best, time and price-wise”, says Annie A. of San Francisco on Yelp.
What to order: Thai Mojito and Garlic Noodles. Go ahead. Order the crispy sweet potato fries with banana ketchup too.
Highlight: Insiders say it is your best bet for a fun Happy Hour Tues- Sat. 4:00pm- last call with daily specials.
Paul Martin’s American Grill, true to their motto motto “Seasonal & Delicious” dishes are made from scratch with the highest quality ingredients alongside artisanal cocktails made with house-infused spirits, craft beers and a deep selection of over 100 wines, most of which are offered by the glass. What to order: For a twist on your classic champs, try the House Champagne Lemonade and House Smoked Salmon on grilled crostini with horseradish cream.
Highlight: You’re already at the Hillsdale Shopping Center! How convenient is that?
THREE, a new San Mateo spot that knows the friendliest and most communal area in a restaurant is the bar. Share some appetizers, share some laughs and enjoy eight rotating craft beers, hand-crafted cocktails, and a first-class wine program. THREE has excellent hand crafted cocktails with ingredients thoughtfully produced in house including fresh herbs grown onsite. Three is definitely a new face in the neighborhood and the restaurant and staff have come looking to stay and impress.”
What to order: The “World’s Best Bloody Mary” and Bacon Bitz or an Espaloma paired with and Jewel Yam Fritters.
Highlight: Wednesday is no corkage night at THREE. Bring your friends and enjoy! THREE is also open for Brunch and serve mimosas every Saturday and Sunday 9:00am to 2:00pm.
