“Cycling will change your day. Making time for yourself will allow you to be better for yourself and those around you. Fill your cup first.” Amy shared a few more ways that cycling is the way to go when choosing your weekly workout, “Improve your mood. Build confidence, courage and strength. Improve cardiovascular health.”
“Music. Community. Vibes.” According to Amy these are 3 words that describe a LIFT bike class so hop on over and hop on!
What is a LIFT Bike Class? The LIFT Bike 45 is an indoor bike ride like none other; taught to the beat of the music, in a dark candle lit room. Enjoy a range of rides from interval, endurance, climbs and speed. Small hand weights or Thera-bands are used during the arm work section of class. Get lost, leave lifted. Looking for a little bit more; longer climbs, more speed, extended recoveries, a little more LIFT? The LIFT Bike 60 class is for you!
Bring it back indoors: Get ready LIFT San Mateo…. The Spring Training Class Challenge is May 1st – 31st! Take as many classes as you can in 30 days and win prizes and bragging rights. Mark your calendars! @liftbbb #liftspringtraining
Amy is committed to bring 100% every time because she values people’s time and understands the importance of making time for a workout each day. “It’s a moving meditation, it changes your mind and your body, and it heals,” Amy added.
A long time bike rider, Amy recalls kicking off on her first two wheels at 5 years old on her Huffy Sweet Thunder. It had the works with pink everywhere, a padded banana seat, and little white basket. Amy remembers her first ride with her 2 older brothers and parents in a beautiful Midwestern suburb with slate sidewalks, Shaker Heights in Ohio. “No helmets, my mom said they weren’t ‘in’ yet,” Amy recalled.
Cycling has been a part of Amy’s life when she was a little girl and now shares the love with her own daughter. For the last few years, most evenings and weekends she would commute via bike with her daughter, starting out on the handle bar mounted seat now Amy noted that, “I am sad to say she is growing out of the rear seat.”
Currently, Amy’s favorite local San Mateo outdoor ride spot is the Bay Trail. Bay Meadows and the surrounding San Mateo area are bike-friendly and offer many different paths to ride and sights to see. San Mateo County offers miles upon miles of scenic bike trails from cruiser paths to more extreme mountain terrain.
Pedaling along to your favorite tunes is an ideal way to spend your day and Amy confirmed you’ll find these three songs on her bike playlist: Ooh Lordy by Youngr, Diddy Bop by Jacob Banks & Louis the Child, and Worry No More by Diplo.
