Don’t Miss Bike to Work Day on May 9th – 2019!

May is bike month. It’s time to Bike to Work San Mateo, use #BTWSanMateo and show us how you roll! Hit the pavement on two wheels and join thousands of new and seasoned bike commuters across the Bay Area for the Annual Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 9, 2019 to celebrate alternate modes of transportation that are good for the planet, healthy for mind and spirit, and fun. Pop by the San Mateo Energizer Station on Franklin Parkway. Our neighbors at Kaiser Permanente will be giving away swag to include messenger bags, snacks (in the bags) and safety vests!

What: Bike To Work Energizer Station

When: May 9th from 7-9am

Where: 1000 Franklin Parkway @ corner of Saratoga in San Mateo

Why: Companies, organizations and individuals support Bike to Work Day each year by hosting one or more of our Energizer Stations. Be sure to stop by enjoy welcoming smiles, tote bags and refreshments at one of the 150+ stations throughout Silicon Valley. For a list of all San Mateo County stations, click here. Bike Commuter Prize Pack:
Sign up for the 2019 Commuter Challenge and log your commute trips during the months of April and May to earn awesome prizes. As a bonus, bike trips logged during the week of May 6 – 10 will be entered to win a special Bike Commuter Prize Pack. The prize pack includes a commuter bag, bicycle lock, and bike repair toolkit. Looking for a great place to ride? Bay Meadows and the surrounding San Mateo area are bike friendly and offer many different paths to ride and sights to see. Bay Meadows has a convenient bike map that you can download here, so you can decide exactly where to ride. Some resident favorites include the Bay Trail as well as Coyote Point Park, and here’s a handy list of 10 sites within a six-mile bike ride.
