Add a Pop of Pantone’s Very Peri

A new year calls for a refresh. With challenges behind us and ones ahead, we can’t help but look forward to self empowerment and exploring personal creativity through this new color. Pantone recently announced the of the Color of the Year 2022, as PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri, a vibrant periwinkle blue with violet red undertones.

The new color brings a sense of playful freshness into home interiors.  It’s a wonderful way to complement the friendly energy found at Bay Meadows and along the San Francisco Peninsula. PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri is suited to an array of different materials, textures, and finishes, providing a pop of color whether introduced through statement furniture or home décor, or acting as an intriguing and eye-catching accent in a pattern.

A New Pantone Color Whose Courageous Presence Encourages Personal Inventiveness and Creativity.

Try a few of these tips to bring this new hue into your Bay Meadows residence:

Start small and introduce the color. Pillows, vases, area rugs, throw blankets, wall art and other decorations offer a simple and effective way to try out Pantone’s color of the year.

Since we all spend a lot of time in the kitchen (the heart of the home), this is a great place to incorporate accents that pop like glassware, towels and wall clocks.

Select textiles in the periwinkle tone and pair them with taupe tones to add another layer of calm and comfort to bedrooms.

Bring the outdoors-in, style a room with Veri Peri hues found in nature by gathering freshly cut blooms into a vase. English Lavender, Salvia, Catmint and more are great plants that can bring the pop into your place.

“For the flower world, whilst not the easiest colour to match, it could be a way to move away from the hard, harsh ‘Cadbury blue’ … tricky at the best of times … and embrace the gentler periwinkles, soft blues and muted lavenders of Scabious, Lavender, Clematis Tweedia, Delphinium, Agapanthus and Allium et al that work well with the softer blowsy, country look that is so popular,” says Florist Trade Club whom also shares a palettes for pairing with Peri.

PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri places the future ahead in a new light.  The color is the “happiest and warmest of all the blue hues,” blending the “faithfulness and constancy of blue with the energy and excitement of red” to deliver an “empowering mix of newness” with a “carefree confidence and a daring curiosity that animates our creative spirit.”
