The Bay Meadows November Agenda

November is filled with activities to add to your agenda! This month the circus is coming to town, a spectacular light show returns, you can join Dia de los Muertos celebrations, take in holiday shows, and much, much more at Bay Meadows and beyond. November 1 – Start planning a Bay Meadows Friendsgiving event! Are you the person to pull together your community and get social? Create an annual Friendsgiving or Flannel Festival at the community table in Persimmon Park or a common space such as a community room or neighborhood park. We invite you to plan some simple annual events with neighbors. Click here for some some great ideas! 

November 2, Holiday Floral Design Workshop. Create your own Fall Centerpiece with Hayley Feyereisen of Wildflowers by Hayley in San Carlos. Light refreshments provided.

November 2-5, Zoppe Italian Family Circus. The Zoppé Italian Family Circus is returning to Downtown Redwood City this fall.

November 4, IlluminOdyssey. The beloved science of light event, IlluminOdyssey, returns to San Mateo’s CuriOdyssey, featuring several classic exhibits along with some all-new offerings.

November 4, First Friday Nights. Swing into the weekend with music, science, animals and fun! On the first Friday of every month, from 5 pm until 8 pm, where parents and kids celebrate together at CuriOdyssey in San Mateo.

November 5, 12, 19, and 26 College of San Mateo Farmers’ Market. Shop seasonally and fresh each Saturday from 9am to 1pm (year-round) at San Mateo’s largest farmer’s market located at 1700 West Hillsdale Boulevard. Fall produce is here! The farmers’ tables are filled with Brussels sprouts, onions, sweet potatoes, apples, figs, pears, and so much more. Find flowers, baked goods, gourmet foods, honey, and everything you need for fall gatherings.

November 5-6, A Decade on Edison Street. With 3 DJ performances and a first ever Banda performance at SportsHouse, with raffles, giveaways, contests, music & attractions in Redwood City.

November 6, Día de los Muertos. The History Museum will join with Casa Círculo Cultural and the Redwood City Public Library to present a Día de los Muertos celebration on the Square.

November 6, Helicopter Adventure. Begin with an intro to the development of rotary-wing aircraft and explanation of the parts of the helicopter using a real Scorpion aircraft in San Carlos.

November 6, Introduction to Ikebana Design. ​From this short course, you will get an overview of basic ikebana design principles and techniques at the San Mateo Arboretum Society.

November 9, Reimagine Hillsdale Site Walk Tour. Get to know the neighborhood and share your ideas for how to make our neighboring San Mateo Hillsdale Shopping Center even better.

November 11, It’s beginning to look a lot like…. skate season! ⛸️❄️ San Mateo on Ice returns to downtown San Mateo on Friday, November 11 running through January 8 – this year the venue requires a waiver to skate. Read all about this fun winter destination and FREE skate days thanks to local businesses.

November 11-13, San Mateo Harvest Festival. Artisans exhibits handmade items including jewelry, clothing, foods, photography, art, hand-turned wood, bath & body, ceramics, glasswork, metal art, and more.

November 12, 18 from  Stand Up Comedy in downtown San Mateo 7-9pm. Enjoy some laughs with live stand comedy right in downtown San Mateo at Bobabia! Watch some of the best stand up comedians in the Bay and beyond! Doors open at 7pm with Showtime at 7:30pm.

November 13, Holiday Cookie Tray. In class students will make our almond raspberry linzer cookies and an assortment of Viennese hand-piped butter cookies, served dipped, sandwiched and sprinkled.

November 17, Third Thursday @ CuriOdyssey. Drinks. Bites. Connections. STEM networking every Third Thursday at CuriOdyssey from 6pm-9pm.

November 19, Holiday Craft Faire. Head to Belmont for a festive Holiday Craft Faire with over 50 local artisans and crafts-persons displaying beautiful, unique items to fill up your stockings.

November 19, ART on the Square Holiday Show. You’ll find perfect gifts for everyone on your list by 28 local artists selling their distinctive creations under the museum’s spectacular stained glass dome in Redwood City.

November 20, Keep Calm & Carry Yarn. Whether you knit, crochet, cross-stitch, or any other stitching come on out and enjoy some dedicated project time, help from other crafters in San Mateo.

November 25-27, San Mateo Thanksgiving Gem Show. The Garden of Beadin’ invites you and your bead friends to San Mateo International Gem and Jewelry Show at the San Mateo County Event Center.

November 27, Halloween Themed Kids Carnival. Aircraft checkouts, cockpit exploration, glider and helicopter construction and more are just some of the activities available in San Carlos.

Bicycle Sundays. A 3.8-mile segment of Cañada Road along Crystal Springs Regional Trail is closed between the Filoli entrance and Highway 92 allowing for non-motorized activities.

Experience Midurban life. Bay Meadows is a family-friendly neighborhood with lots of open space to enjoy all-year long. Whether it’s growing your own vegetables in an organic community garden, playing a game of pick-up basketball after work, team building over bocce in the beer garden, picnicking with family on warm summer nights or with a run around the park, there’s no shortage of green space to explore.
