Try Some of our Best Small Town Fare: Bring the butterflies back and recreate your courtship days by enjoying a night out at a local restaurant.  We’ve rounded up a few great choices for a date night on the town:

Ramen Dojo’s Spicy Garlic Pork Ramen. All ramen dishes comes with roasted pork, fried whole garlic, mushrooms, fresh green chives and a quail egg.  This quaint and casual neighborhood noodle house gets packed, so grab your date and head out early.  Featured by Zagat as one of the Top Japanese Restaurants South of SF and highly recommended by our own Concierge, Stephanie.

Espetus Churrascaria’s slowly roasts the highest quality cuts of beef, lamb, chicken, pork and seafood over open flame and serve them right at your tableside. A 4 star Yelp rated Brazilian steakhouse with dim sum style servers coming around the table with individual-sized pieces.  Enjoy Caipi-Hour on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5-7pm featuring Caipirinha and seasonal cocktails.

Kingfish’s skirt steak, lobster raviolis and oysters.  Featuring an exhibition Oyster bar, 3 full bars exhibiting a broad range of spirits and talented mixologists, 2 wine cellars, a Speakeasy lounge and cozy booths perfect for your night out.  I had the lobster ravioli and all I can say is WOW”, says Jeff P. from Hillsborough.

Mix in Some Entertainment: If you’re looking to try something new on your night out, try these local favorites…

Create, Mix and Mingle is San Mateo’s new 5 star Yelp rated venue for art entertainment.  You can mingle and enjoy a glass of wine or a beer as you unleash your inner artist, along with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages in the Paint and Sip studio.

Or try Make & Mingle, offered every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6:30-9pm. Bring your drawing tools and inner artist. Hosted in the upstairs gallery space at The Shop at Flywheel Press, this is a great way to relax and get just on the other side of hump day.

B Street and Vine is a wine cafe is located in downtown.  Enjoy live music, amazing little appetizers paired with a good glass of wine and you have a perfect evening. We hear the long list of bruschetta options are to die for… ‘Hands down, my favorite place for bruschetta! I love the Prosciutto/figs, mango/avocado, brie/applies and the smoked salmon! Herb-Roasted Lobster and Steak. Decadent and filling, this classic surf-and-turf combination features dry-aged beef alongside juicy lobster tails, all topped with homemade herb butter.

Seared Scallops. These would be great served as an appetizer, over cooked pasta or grains, or alongside steamed or grilled vegetables.

Sweet Strawberry Risotto.  A sweet treat for a date night, this silky, indulgent rice dessert, layered with fresh strawberries, is great warm but leftovers are also delicious served cold.
