Bay Meadows

The City of San Mateo recently announced that Bay Meadows parking enforcement is changing this new year.  Starting in February 2025, vehicles parked on Derby Ave., Landing Ave., Kyne St., 28th Ave., Paddock Way and Baze Rd. must abide by the restored 2-hour parking restriction Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm. Vehicles parked in designated areas for longer than two hours risk being cited by the San Mateo Police Department.

So why are these parking restrictions changing? As a transit-oriented community, Bay Meadows was designed to reduce reliance on vehicles while expanding transportation options. With Hillsdale Caltrain Station and its samTrans connections plus the San Francisco Bay Trail steps from residences, it’s easy to get from here to ‘there’ car-free. Parking time limitations in Bay Meadows were eased during the COVID-19 pandemic and have been gradually reimplemented since that time.
